This 3/4″ poplar wood was engraved with Egyptian style artwork depicting sphinx head engraved with brown artwork accents and then cut to size. This wood head shape will be used as a trophy award by a Brooklyn company.
LaserCutZ welcomes new laser to our portfolio of machines. New CO2 is one of the largest machines on east cost (as usual) featuring size of 1500x3000mm work table which is nearly 5×10 feet. Machine is capable of high speed engraving and cutting of large size acrylic and wood panels which is ideal for larger single signage and architectural design projects. We now how 3 large machines under same roof for metal cutting, plastic, wood and fabric leather cutting. All machines are 5×10 which allows LaserCutZ take on large projects without any limitations.
This is “wing” solar panel cell assembly for a low orbit satellite. LaserCutZ fabricated main panel structural body, solar cells and top PV protective cover for model assembly.
Brushed metal looking plastic sign fabricated for a local Brooklyn medical office. Sign in installed in reception area to provide additional brand recognition of that doctors office. This is 3D raised acrylic lettering
LaserCutZ was commissioned to fabricate new frame for a metal sculpture to be installed in NYC subway station. Whats needed to be done is to cut existing sculpture metal frame, expended it in size to meet new dimension requirements by artist and then weld new frame together. Aside form making new frame we needed to make plate that will hold sculpture face. In order to do this, we 3D scanned existing metal plate and created cut shape based on original holder plate. When form 3D scan we extracted 2D data to a DXF file so we can cut new plate. Those plates are rather large and thick 3/8″ steel, total size was larger then 5x10ft so we separated art into 2 sections so it can be cut form 4x8ft steel sheet. We used our fiber laser to cut both of those metal plates. When finished they got welded together but deep structural welding to be sure that plates hold well together. Newly fabricated plate got counter sunk holes and required by client and then it was fitted to extended frame structure.
This sign may looks typical but its actually an environmentally friendly laser cut sign which is done with biodegradable plastic and used low VOC chalk paint which is also biodegradable and washable. In another words when wedding is over an props and decorations are no longer needed and get disposed, this sign will not pollute our environment and reduce garbage burden. While it is not widely popular to make temporary props form environmentally friendly materials, we believe we should sent an example and be 1st to start producing those. Unfortunately such materials are still hard to get and are very high priced, but we hope to see prices become more affordable in near future.
LaserCutZ just finished cutting massive layer count topology model for an architectural firm in Manhattan. This model includes over 100 layers of chip board laser cut forming relief elevation. Our equipment produces minimum burning on edges and if needed larges material size for CO2 laser is almost 5×10 ft which makes it by far larger then any other machine in NYC
LaserCutZ stat of the art metal fiber laser cutting machines can cut any type of metals including precious metals and common jewelry metals such as brass. Here we have bras laser cut and engraved and then plated with 24k gold layer after polishing.
Exploring new possibilities we started to experiment with sewing and stitching as we do lots of fabric laser cutting of patterns this seams logical. In this experiment we reversed engineered Mercedes roadster shifter knob leather pouch. It took quite bit of revisions as original leather was stretched over time so new patterns traced from original part did not much shifter ring. At the end we got very good fit of pattern that we can stitch and stretch. Sample photo shows test cut and sewed in suede fabric. Next we will do the same in leather. We will also add laser printed pattern on leather same as we did for Lamborghini project as this add extra nice looks. Though current mod was swapped from black to red color which looks fairly aggressive on carbon fiber interior.
We believe sharing of progress is good thing to do so we posting pasterns here so any one can use them (for not commercial use)
Patterns provided are DXF file in metric (mm) units. Those are designed for laser cutting but can be cut by hand and stretching loops can be sliced with xacto knife, though we only tried cutting with laser as thats what we do every day. Note file is universal for both sides so same file needs to be mirrored (flipped) for a second part. We made everything as one part instead of two as in original as it seams easier to have one file. For this reason please watch direction and orientation of stretch pins they need to much location of loops when you sew parts together. We used Juki quilting machine to stitch this together. Center joint offset about 10mm, then flattening stitches are about 3-4mm to the side (foot center follow joint line and needle in far left or far right form it, stitched form back do bobbin thread is exposed)

Brooklyn local supermarket needed to replace spastic curtains in bread cabinet with something aesthetically better looking yet functional to protect bread on shelf. LaserCutZ fabricated policarbonate doors and installed them on existing cabinet walls. Polycarbonate was chosen because it is indestructible material which is prefect for retail environment. Polycarbonate is also used in bulletproof window laminates, if its bent, hit with anything it will not brake unlike acrylic which is very fragile and tend to crack and break easily. Disadvantages of poly is it needs to be CNC milled which increase ist production cost. Either way LaserCutZ can fabricate any retail display cabinets weather it is acrylic, poly or real silica glass
