BOSS Laser LS3655 No Network Connection Repair Diagnostics Guide

Existing conditions:
Client unable to send file to Boss CO2 laser via network. Boss tech support recommended to replace controller but that did not solve issue. They also recommended to replace modem (we not sure why, maybe they referred to switch or router) that did not help either.

LaserCutZ Recommendations:
First we need to make sure that there no IP conflict on network and that cable is ok and that we can ping machine. Instructions here will be given for Windows based host machine.

1. Check ARP table of your network to ensure there are no conflicting IP addresses. to do so pres Windows+R keys

You will get run pop up, there trype “cmd” (no quotes) and hit OK
Now you will see windows command line interface (CLI) which is black window.

There type “arp -a” (no quotes)
You will see table similar to this

In case of our network ip class falls in structure of “192.168.x.x” you can ignore all other IPs, You also probably will be one one network so check if there same identical IP present ex 192.168.0.54 present on both static and dynamic assignment if so you have IP conflict and device will not work. Fair note Ruida laser controllers that Boss laser uses does not register IP to arp so if you domt see conflicted IP that’s not not it yet.

Lets go to laser machine HMI and check what IP it uses.
While at home menu press Z/U button to enter main menu that looks like this

Use Up/Down keys to go down to section called “IP config+”

In that section you will see IP of your laser machine running on Ruida (in this case with LightBurn)

IP of machine we have here 192.168.0.150 note that its on the same subnet as computer (network interface we are using as seen in ARP table interface IP was 192.168.0.103
If ips are in different subnet then this will not work so pay attention that that you sont have something like 192.168.1.50 when PC is on 192.168.0.103 notice that 3rd block in ine case is 0 another case is 1 those are two separate netwoks and they wont be able to talk to each other.

Another note as we can see laser is on 192.168.0.150 but its not listed in our ARP table of PC this is some what known and its ok (or maybe even better then ok as now we know or hope that there no conflicting IP but lets test further)

Go back to CLI and type ping 192.168.0.150 this will send packets to laser and see if we get reply if we do we have network on line. Here how it should look. We see that we received reply in less then 1ms on all 4 packets sent

On another hand if you get destination unreachable or time out errors then you have communication problem. Here how it will look is we have problem. Or it can show timeouts

So if you can ping machine that’s good so far. If you cant ping machine then there no network connection. I would 1st check cable, then use cross over cable (different network wire) and text communication directly form PC to Laser to identify if its problem with networking equipment. You can try regular cable too but its not grantee that Ruida would support straight cables. If dicte cable works and ping is ok then problem with equipment between PC to laser, ex switch or router. Pay attention to cable itself, assuming you dont have network tester you can try to plugin network cable form laser to other PC/Laptop, disable wifi and see if it can go on internet, of no internet working then you have faulty cable. Recommendations in this section become chaotic as they relay on findings so we just assume different scenarios.

On another hand if ping to laser IP was successful then we have communication and lets keep debugging. For that turn OFF laser,be sure Ruida HMI screen is off and lets try to ping 192.168.0.150 again. Now we expect to have destination unreachable as machine is now off.
In my case pinging machine that is off returned both time out and unreachable errors

if you have machine that it ON and operable but you see other ping results, ex all packets are transmitted then it means that you have other device on network that has static IP and it causes conflict. You would need to find that device and change its IP (or change ip of laser to one that is available.

If you get ping working properly when machine is on and also working (not seeing) machine when its off then this not networking issue then you need to go to your software weather its RDWorks or Lightburn and check IP settings there and make sure sift is configured to use proper network address. Make sire that it matches IP that you see in the screen

One of those test should show what problem is and based on that proper decision can be made to fix the problem

Radiator Grill MDF CNC Cutting

HVAC labels printed for GC to ensure their signage is up to NYC code. Those labels are intended to identify pipes and direction of gas traveling in them. Metal Sculpture Frame Fabrication for NYC MTA Subway Station

MTA Subway Sculpture Welding Service in NYC

LaserCutZ was commissioned to fabricate new frame for a metal sculpture to be installed in NYC subway station. Whats needed to be done is to cut existing sculpture metal frame, expended it in size to meet new dimension requirements by artist and then weld new frame together. Aside form making new frame we needed to make plate that will hold sculpture face. In order to do this, we 3D scanned existing metal plate and created cut shape based on original holder plate. When form 3D scan we extracted 2D data to a DXF file so we can cut new plate. Those plates are rather large and thick 3/8″ steel, total size was larger then 5x10ft so we separated art into 2 sections so it can be cut form 4x8ft steel sheet. We used our fiber laser to cut both of those metal plates. When finished they got welded together but deep structural welding to be sure that plates hold well together. Newly fabricated plate got counter sunk holes and required by client and then it was fitted to extended frame structure.

This sign may looks typical but its actually an environmentally friendly laser cut sign which is done with biodegradable plastic and used low VOC chalk paint which is also biodegradable and washable. In another words when wedding is over an props and decorations are no longer needed and get disposed, this sign will not pollute our environment and reduce garbage burden. While it is not widely popular to make temporary props form environmentally friendly materials, we believe we should sent an example and be 1st to start producing those. Unfortunately such materials are still hard to get and are very high priced, but we hope to see prices become more affordable in near future.
