Aluminum Partition Profile MOPA Fiber Laser Engraving

Aluminum profiles are best material for quick modular architectural structures build outs. In most cases there are two popular surface coating for aluminum metal. One is anodization and other is powder coating. Both fabrication methods can be laser engraved. This sample engraved by LaserCutZ shows usage of both MOPA fiber laser and UV laser. Those lasers produce different results and should be used depending on client requirements. On left you can see grey laser engraving, this was done with UV laser. Under UV laser, powder coat pigment changed its color to gray. This engraving method does not penetrate coating so there is minimal relief but unlike paint or inking this is absolutely permanent marking that cannot be removed. Such gray engraving can achieve artistic representation and be less intrusive in terms of visual appearance. On other hand MOPA fiber laser will go deeper into material and cause higher color change making artwork to be almost white. This produce big contrast and easy to read signage. Artwork also have more 3D texture as laser recessed deeper into material. In case of fiber laser we can engrave even deeper and penetrate top layers of metal to expose material color or do micro polishing to imitate silver appearance. Regardless of laser technology used, both methods will produce durable marking that will last forever and provide exceptional visual appearance.

There are two was to make a text name tag, one is to laser cut metal sheet and then polish it to perfection. LaserCutZ can cut any type of metals including precious metals such as gold, silver and other metals such as copper, steel, iron and others. Other production method is casting. With metal casting first we laser cut plastic blank then we do silicone mold which will produce us soap wax and that soap wax will be casted into metal such as gold. Casting allows reproduction of more complex models while metal laser cutting is better for flat sheet metal jobs.

LaserCutZ just finished custom laser cut paper invitation pockets that are decorated as Washington DC monuments silhouettes. Those are cut form grey cardstock with our CO2 laser. With perfectly fine tuned job small details are possible to laser cut and what is most important there is no smoke build up on cut edges. Having wedding invitations perfectly clean without any burning on edge is very impressive and not too many can achieve that quality. Metal Cylinder Mechanical Part Number Laser Engraving

Sample parts produced for a NY window company. Part is metal cylinder and it got serial number text engraved along the circumference. Laser marking on cylinders, tubes, pipes rings etc needs to be done with rotary too. With rotary part is being spinned by a stepper motor when laser works and in this way printed text or artwork covers whole face of the cylinder wall. LaserCutZ laser engraving machine can do automatic serial numbers or date time stamp for each part we engrave.

Sparkling glitter self-standing acrylic sign fabrication

Letter V of the sign was painted with silver glitter to make it stand out from the rest if the sign. All other letters are laser cut from ¼” grey acrylic. Letters are mount on clear plexi which is almost invisible and it looks like the sign is just standing on its own. Sign laser cut, painted, and assembled in NYC and shipped to client in Washington.

We had part that cannot be replaced that we need to fix. This cylinder has screw broken in it so it has to be drilled out, once it was drilled out bigger hole was cast with plastic new thread was added to the plastic infill. This procedure allowed use of original part with original style of screws.

LaserCutZ fabricated this highly reflective mirror finish metal sign for Manhattan based audio manufacturer. Sign was used at CES 2018 as a product sell “sheet”. It was first laser cut from stainless steel then we polished the plate to perfection and then user deep black laser engraving method with our fiber laser.
